Stevenson was dragged from her house, raped and lynched because her son was suspected of the arson of Gabe Frank’s barn. The gruesomely scene was witnessed by thousands and thousands of passengers who traveled in and out of the city the next morning. Stevenson's body was left hanging until Friday morning.
