Mauriot’s left breast and pubis had been removed. Her 25-year-old lover Jean Michel Kraveichvili was killed a short distance away from the tent while trying to escape. The killer sent a taunting note, along with a piece of Mauriot's breast to state prosecutor Silvia della Monica stating that a murder had taken place and challenging local authorities to find the victims. It was the last known murder by Il Mostro.
