The Ipswich Journal of 26 February 1774 reported that "It is reported that an old man who died recently near Newmarket who just before his death confessed that he set fire to a barn at Burwell, Cambridgeshire on the 8th of September 1727 when no less than 80 persons lost their lives and that having an antipathy to the puppet showman was the cause of him committing the action."

About 45 miles northeast of St. Cloud Carignan attacked Lynch while King managed to escape.

The body of 41-year-old Actress Jean Dorothy Seberg is found naked under a blanket in the backseat of her white Renault 5 in Rue du Général-Appert, Paris, XVIe, Île-de-France, France.

Seberg committed suicide by an overdose of barbiturates and alcohol on 30 August 1979. Her suicide note read "Diego, mon fils chéri, pardonne-moi. Je ne pouvais plus vivre. Comprends-moi."

36-year-old Nadine Mauriot is shot and stabbed to death by unidentified serial killer Il Mostro di Firenze in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Scopeti, Toscana, Italy.

Mauriot’s left breast and pubis had been removed. Her 25-year-old lover Jean Michel Kraveichvili was killed a short distance away from the tent while trying to escape. The killer sent a taunting note, along with a piece of Mauriot's breast to state prosecutor Silvia della Monica stating that a murder had taken place and challenging local authorities to find the victims. It was the last known murder by Il Mostro.
