Collier's last meal request was for 30 jumbo shrimp with cocktail sauce, a baked potato, French fries, a T-bone steak, a chocolate malt, one gallon of vanilla ice cream and three cans of Big Red. He was given fried fish, chicken fried steak, baked potato and ice cream. Collier's last words were "The only thing I want to say is that I appreciate the hospitality you guys have shown me and the respect. And the last meal was really good. That is about it." Monday 18th of September 1961 (-) — Second Secretary-General of the United Nations Dag Hammarskjöld dies in a Douglas DC-6B plane crash. Hammarskjöld and fifteen others perished in the crash. The circumstances of the incident are still not clear. There is some recent evidence that suggest the plane was shot down.
