Lancaster poisoned his wife, her father, her three sisters, her former fiancé, her aunt and a servant and to make it look like a local epidemic, went on to poison some of his neighbours. Lancaster was hung from his own front door at High Wray Farm and then taken by horse and cart to Poole Stang where his body was placed on a gibbet to rot away.

A lower leg of the unidentified 10th victim of the Unidentified serial killer Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run aka Cleveland Torso Murderer is found floating in the Cuyahoga River in The Flats, Cleveland, Ohio, United States.

On 2 May a human thigh was discovered floating in the river to the east of the West 3rd Street bridge. A police search under the bridge found a burlap sack containing the victim's headless torso cut in to halves, another thigh and a left foot. The head and the rest of the body were never found.

Lüdke was experimented on by consuming pure alcohol, bone marrow punctures and more. He probably died in a low pressure experiment. Some experiments on Lüdke were recorded on vinyl by psychiatrist and physician Robert Ritter.

Irvin was captured because his car was spotted on a rural road in Western Vanderburgh County. It was seen by Edward, Gary, Alan and Russell Peerman, Pete Molinet and Larry Weber. The boys recognized a dent in the door of his car that had been reported in the paper. Irvin worked at the power plant as a steam-pipe insulator, earning $1.90 per hour.

Two hours before Okada was found with a slashed wrist in her gas-filled apartment crouching in a closet and crying. Okada's death resulted in many copycat suicides in Japan, soon christened with the neologism 'Yukiko Syndrome'.
