Bridget Bishop is executed by hanging at the age of 60 in Salem, Massachusetts, United States.

Bishop was accused of bewitching five young women; Abigail Williams, Ann Putnam, Mercy Lewis, Mary Walcott, and Elizabeth Hubbard, on the date of her examination by the authorities. It was the first execution in the Salem Witchcraft Trials.

Ludwig II was transported to Schloss Berg on the shores of Starnberger See, south of München.

Baby farm murderess Amelia Elizabeth Dyer aka The Ogress of Reading is executed by hanging at the age of 59 in Newgate Prison, London, Greater London, United Kingdom.

Dyer was tried and hanged for one murder but there is little doubt she was responsible for many more similar deaths - possibly 400 or more - over a period of perhaps 20 years.

On 7 June 1926 Gaudí was taking his daily walk to the Sant Felip Neri church for his habitual prayer and confession. While walking along the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes between Girona and Bailén streets he was struck by a passing tram and lost consciousness.

Pahlavi was found in bed, her body emaciated by years of anorexia, bulimia, and food intolerances. Pahlavi had more than five times the lethal dose of Seconal in her system along with a nonlethal amount of cocaine. She spent much of her last year staying at the Leonard Hotel paying £450 a night for her favourite suite.

Mathematician and serial bomber Theodore John 'Ted' Kaczynski aka The Unabomber is found unresponsive in his cell at the age of 81 in Federal Medical Center, Old North Carolina Highway 75, Butner, North Carolina, United States.

Kaczynski was pronounced dead upon being transported to a nearby hospital. According to three people familiar with the situation Kaczynski died by suicide.
